FRANZ FERDINAND CANTA ANUL ACESTA LA B’ESTFEST! |

Trupa britanica FRANZ FERDINAND este cea mai recenta confirmare pe afisul B'ESTFEST! Festivalul se va desfasura in perioada 1 - 5 iulie, in aer liber, in cadrul complexului Romexpo din Bucuresti. Alaturi de Franz Ferdinand (3 iulie), si-au anuntat deja participarea la festival The Killers, headliner in ''Ziua Zero'' pe 1 iulie, Manowar, cap de afis la AFTERSHOCK (5 iulie), plus Motorhead (2 iulie) si Iggy and The Stooges (3 iulie).
Denumita dupa Arhiducele Franz Ferdinand al Austriei, Franz Ferdinand a luat fiinta in Glasgow, Scotia, in 2002, trupa fiind formata in prezent din Alex Kapranos (voce, chitara), Bob Hardy (chitara bass), Nick McCarthy (chitara armonica, clape, voce secundara) si Paul Thomson (tobe, percutie, voce secundara). Primul succes Franz Ferdinand a venit odata cu single-ul ''Take me out'', extras de pe albumul omonim de debut, lansat in 2004. Piesa a devenit rapid un hit, ajungand pe primele locuri in clasamentele din intreaga lume, iar succesul albumului a adus trupei doua premii Brit in 2005. In acelasi an, Franz Ferdinand s-a retras in studioul din Scotia pentru a lucra la cel de-al doilea material discografic, ''You Could Have It So Much Better''. La scurt timp dupa aparitie, albumul s-a instalat prima pozitie in topul din Marea Britanie, iar turneul de promovare a marcat un nou succes al trupei, cu un numar record de concerte sold-out! La sfarsitul lui 2007, Franz Ferdinand a inceput sa lucreze in Glasgow la ''Tonight'', cel de-al treilea album de studio al trupei, ce urmeaza sa fie lansat chiar saptamana aceasta.
Alesi de U2 pentru a canta in deschiderea concertelor din turneul Vertigo, Franz Ferdinand este renumita pentru show-urile live extrem de antrenante, trupa reusind sa-si treaca pana acum in CV numeroase aparitii la festivaluri internationale precum Glastonbury, Roskilde, Exit, Sziget, Werchter, Benicassim, PinkPop sau Coachella.
Biletele pentru ''Ziua Zero'' precum si cele valabile pentru o zi de festival (2, 3 sau 4 iulie) sunt disponibile pe www.myticket.ro urmand ca de marti, 27 ianuarie, acestea sa poata fi achizitionate si din magazinele Diverta. Biletele de o zi sunt valabile doar pentru ziua de festival pentru care sunt cumparate (''Ziua Zero'', zilele 2, 3 sau 4 iulie). Pretul unui bilet este de 110 lei, pana la data de 1 aprilie; 130 lei in perioada 2 aprilie - 30 iunie; 150 lei pe durata festivalului si la intrare. Abonamentele de trei zile, valabile pentru 2, 3 si 4 iulie, sunt disponibile doar in pre-sale si costa 270 lei, iar biletele pentru B'ESTFEST AFTERSHOCK sunt disponibile in doua categorii de pret, in functie de pozitia fata de scena: 100 lei si 150 lei (Zona A, din fata scenei). Abonamentele B'ESTFEST si biletele pentru AFTERSHOCK pot fi achizitionate din reteaua magazinelor Diverta si on-line, de pe siteul www.myticket.ro.

+ METALLICA are having an open air show at NOVA ROCK festival in Austria,like 10 days before the official start of BESTFEST.So they broke the circle of the World Magnetic indoor tour.it would be great to have them back.
these bands will rise the `value` of festival.i mean people will never have the chance to see so many bands at the same time in this poor country :).we deserve more imdie and metal,you see where the trend is going,so follow it :)

Sorry about the "asking" part. I don't know why the word got stuck in my mind. I saw now that you said that they "wanted". For what it's worth, I apologize if I offended the cooks.
Anyway, the dinner smells good already, we won't be poisoned, that's for sure. We'll just have to hope for the best desert so that in the end we could all say happily: "Saru'mana pentru masa!" |

Nobody refused anything Horia. None of the bands you mentionned 'asked' to play B'ESTFEST, but a couple of bands said they 'would be happy' to play B'ESTFEST. Even so, any band/act has limits as to 'on what B'ESTFEST dates they COULD play' and regarding 'on what stage and before or after what other act they want to play (or not to play)'. Last but not least there are potential 'budget restrictions' to be taken into consideration.
Putting a festival line up together is more complicated than 'deciding what you want to eat , buy the ingredients , cook and eat'. In a festival's case, 'the ingredients' decide :
- if they want to be part of the meal;
- what other ingredients they want to be 'mixed' with;
- how much money the cook should pay for them;
- at what time in the cooking process they want to be thrown into the pot...
Believe me, with those restrictions to take into account, even Jamie Oliver would have a hard time to cook his meals.

Hell ya! Another great band to be seen this year. But since we are talking about spaming allow me to do some. How can one of Snow Patrol, Keane or Travis be ASKING to perform at Bestfest and you guys say that you can't find a decent timeslot for them if everything you have in the pipeline confirms. And you choose to refuse them. HOW??
The Rolling Stone said about the first two that they are becoming the best rock'n'roll bands in the world. We might not see them in festivals for long and you can't take them? They should play even if Franz Ferdinand, Killers, Moby and kings of Leon come.
For cryin' out loud, put them in the after shock! After all, you only had one stage last year, there's room for everybody and the audiences are different. Just bring them!:)
