IGGY AND THE STOOGES CANCEL THE 2009 TOUR |

Unfortunately, Iggy and the Stooges will be canceling this year tour due to the sad news of Ron Asheton`s death. In the summer of 2009, Iggy & The Stooges were to play at B`ESTFEST`s 3rd edition, in Bucharest.
Guitarist Ron Asheton passed way at the age of 60. The artist was found dead at his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan on January 6th. Ron was a founding member of the Stooges, along with his brother Scott Asheton, Iggy Pop and original bassist Dave Alexander.
''We consider the band`s decision an understandable one after this sorrowful event, and we are sure that the Romanian fans will understand it as well. Our deepest regrets and sincere condolences, aside with the fans` ones, go to Ron Asheton`s family and friends in these harsh moments'', said Laura Coroianu, Executive Director of Emagic, the B`ESTFEST`s organizers.
Details on the new confirmations over the festival`s line-up will be posted during next weeks

A doua ratare Iggy in Romania.
Anul trecut au anulat concertul dupa ce-l anuntasera la Stufstock, anul asta anuleaza la Bestfest.Pacat.
P.S. Va rog eu mult, mutati festivalul dintre betoane. Gasiti o locatie, undeva cu iarba, cu lac, cu insula. Ceva frumos, nu constructii comuniste complet betonate. Ma simt ca la un festival al berii, doar ca in loc de Andre canta Killers. |

Da,ar fi extraordinar sa vina Radiohead.Eu nu cred ca vor veni prea curand,si nu vad ca un festival ca B'estfest sa poata atrage o trupa de calibrul asta.Totusi,cred ca e posibil sa vedem R.E.M,Beck,The Verve,The Cure,Morrissey,Kings of Leon sau RATM.Eu va implor,bring RADIOHEAD to Romania! |

You could try getting a band like The Kooks or Babyshambles to play the same day as Franz Ferdinand...wouldn't that be less expensive then Iggy anyways? |

Sad and understandable...
But that means you're gonna need another big band to fill that particular slot?
Say, a band like Travis, Snow Patrol or Keane?:)
