Formed in 2007 by Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums), Charles Cave (bass) and Harry McVeigh (vocals, guitar), the British band White Lies are considered by fans and the musical media the succesors of Joy Division, their new wave and post-punk sound being making them comparable to other renowned bands such as Talking Heads, Editors, Interpol or The Killers.
White Lies had an incredible start at the beginning of 2008 with the song "Death", which was chosen by BBC Radio 1 as "The Hottest Record in the World!" and also reached the first place in the UK Chart. Released in January 2009, their debut album "To Lose My Life" displays main topics such as love and death, put in as a post-punk epic, during all the album`s 10 tracks. The success they gained with their first studio material propelled White Lies on the stages of some of the most famous European festivals, such as Isle of Wight, T in the Park, Oxegen, Benicassim, Coachella and Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, aside Florence and The Machine, Friendly Fires and Glasvegas.
