Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Sonic Youth, as well as Blink 182 and Limp Bizkit involuntarily contributed to forming and defining AB4, as the band made their debut on the Romanian musical stage with a sober and elaborated sound, displaying a style inspired from grunge, cross-over and alternative rock. AB4 members reunited for the first time under this name in the Spring of 2000, when they started to record the 10 tracks included on their debut album, entitled “Toxic”. In 2003, the band released their second material, in the very same year, some componency changes also occurring. At the moment, the band is Doru Trascau (vocals, guitar, samples), Enrico D'Angelosante (guitar, samples), Antonio Bonansingo (bass) and Dorian Cazacu (drums). After being named “Best Romanian Act” at MTV Romanian Music Awards in 2003, AB4 continued their career with playing at various concerts, including a show at “Wan2Stage” (Sziget Festival) in 2004, and the opening-act for the Placebo concert in Bucharest, in 2006. AB4 will be performing at B'ESTFEST 2009 aside Orbital, Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons and Alternosfera (July 3rd).
