Official announcements to follow in the course of this week; some of them most likely today (I did my job; now it's up to Dragos).
Among the 9.... one Romanian, one Hungarian, 2 from France, one half (kinda) Romanian, one American, one Canadian, one English, one Scandinavian (actualy, the Scandinavian act has posted the show already on its own website).
The deejays ? All dutch !

I bet / I hope the Hungarian act is Subscribe :D And I hope the American act is an alternative rock band (Counting Crows, maybe? They're touring Europe this summer and they can't be that expensive), and I also hope the British act is not an indie band. I'm sick of them. |

Bai, ce mai rade Dragos cu Guido de noi aku. Au aruncat un os si toti incearca sa-l rugume cum poate:) Fiti mai indiferenti....sa-si faca ei griji si sa anunte repede numele mari ca sa ne tina, sa nu fugim din tara la alte festivaluri...:))
Oricum, as vrea mult sa radem si noi (de bucurie sper), atunci cand vom vedea super marile nume pe scena Bestfest... |

So, from the 9 acts promised for this week, 2 have been announced: the Scandinavian one and a French one.
Lavigne would be cool, and I'm still holding my fingers crossed for Counting Crows from the US (or any other alternative rock band for that matter), and a good British rock band. |

we already know (officially) who the 2 french ones are. nice picks btw!
the half.kinda.romanian is miss platnum, she's already added the date on her myspace.
i do hope though that the english one is not damn deluka, who've also added a b'estfest date on their myspace.. cause that would be giving high hopes to some top uk act fans and providing them a band that really no one cares about in return.
hopefully we'll see yonderboi as the hungarian act, since he's the only (more than) decent musician in that country.. it would also be a nice return to romania for him.
i have some guesses on the other ones as well, but i'll keep them for myself as those will most likely be the fan magnets ;) |

I'm pretty sure the Canadian act will be Avril Lavigne, since she's touring Eastern Europe in July and has nothing on July 4 (in between the Vilnius and Wroclaw gigs) and on 6 (more likely, as she has a concert on July 7 in Budapest).
However, I'd prefer Feist instead (although she will be touring the US in July)...
or Arcade Fire (who don't have any tour dates yet)
or Rufus Wainwright (who has a gig in London on July 5 and then one in the neighbouring Istanbul on 8)
or his sister Martha (who is in UK this summer)
or Alanis (who is also touring Europe this summer)
or Barenaked Ladies (who are currently touring the US)
but, as I said, I guess it will be Avril Lavigne :) |
