Named after a South African football team, Kaiser Chiefs (Ricky Wilson - vocal, Andrew 'Whitey' White - guitar, Simon Rix - bass, Nick 'Peanut' Baines - keyboards and Nick Hodgson - drums, vocal) was born in Leeds, UK, in 2003. Their debut album, ''Employment'', released in March 2005, was primarily inspired by new wave and punk rock music of late 1970's. The singles ''Oh My God'', ''Everyday I Love You Less and Less'', ''Modern Way'' brought them the second position in the the UK Album Chart and also a place on the shortlist for the Mercury Prize.
In 2007, Kaiser Chiefs released their second album, ''Yours Truly, Angry Mob'', which easily reached the No. 1 position in the UK charts. The first single,''Ruby'' enjoyed massive success worldwide, being the first Kaiser Chiefs song to top the charts right from the release! “Ruby” was followed by "Everything Is Average Nowadays", "The Angry Mob" and "Love's Not a Competition (But I'm Winning)", released at the end of last year.
