MISS PLATNUM

Music fans will have the chance to see Ruth Renner, a.k.a. Miss Platnum , performing live on the B'ESTFEST scene on 4th of July. Ruth is originally from Banat, the western part of Romania, and she became famous in Europe by promoting a new music style called R'n'Balkan, a melange of R&B, pop and balkanic ethno music. Miss Platnum, so-called „Missy Elliot of the Balkans”, released her first album, „Chefa” in 2007. The material was very well promoted by the single „Give me the food”, where Ruth is using the Romanian language making fun of her weight. In a world where the “skinny” ones have always an advantage, Ruth is not afraid to admit that she likes to eat. Actually, Miss Platnum has became a very well known representative of the „fat feminism” movement, which encourages the women to stop feeling so embarrassed by their fattish figure.
