Next to the „stars” that have already been announced for the festival, 6 new bands will have the opportunity to show the audience what they are capable of on the Future Heroes stage, in the Coca-Cola Arena. The visitors on www.bestival.ro have chosen from over 40 demos and their votes have decided the winners: 50% out of the 30.820 votes were given to the 10 finalists. The five Romanian bands are Boeuf, Eloize, Hotel Fetish, Tep Zepi and Vaduva Bob, and Mlyk!, from Bulgaria, is the foreign winner of the „Future Heroes” competition.
BOEUF
Boeuf was born one year and a half ago, in Arad. Their style represents an inovation for the Romanian musical scene: alternative rock and shoegase influences. The band members are Dan Daianu (vocals), Radu Cret (solo guitar), Alex Papiu (rithym guitar), Marcel Iovanov (bass) si Marian Andrei (drums).
ELOIZE
Eloize - Nin (vocals, harmony guitar), Dumi (solo guitar, piano), Radu (guitar, backing vocals), Clau (drums) si Seph (percution) - has opened the concerts for well-known bands, such as Blazzaj and OCS. The group was founded in August 2006, and its musical influences are indie and alternative rock.
HOTEL FETISH
Alex Catrina (vocals, guitar), Ciprian Macesaru (drums), Mihai Marin (bass, backing vocals), Ovidiu Chihaia (vocals, guitar) have been singing together since April 2004, and their musical style can be described as a surprizing melange of post punk, garage si rock'n'roll.
VADUVA BOB
Based in 2005, the group is formed by Peter (vocals, guitar), Costin (bass), John (drums) and has performed at Underground Timisoara Fest for two years in a row, together with AKM, Buricul Pamantului or Discordless. vaduvaBOB is one of the most succesful Romanian indie bands, offering the audience not only a new sound, but also an original image.
TEP ZEPI
Tep Zepi (Victor, Mihnea, Vlad, Bogdan) sing “stoner rock”, an unique mix of grunge and psihedelic. They have performed on the same stage with Luna Amara, Kumm,si Girls Against Boys (NY, SUA).
MLYK!
Mlyk! was formed in 2003 and soon started to spread generously an alternative mixture of punk, metal, ska, grunge, reggae, dub, waltz, tango. The absurd positivity of the lyrics has become sort of a bands brand.
